Backbase has customers on all continents, works with professionals in countries around the world and has offices in five of the seven continents in the world. We are looking for a Compensation & Benefits Manager to join the HR team at the Amsterdam headquarters.
Backbase has been growing and will be expanding more internationally. As Backbase operates in a highly competitive labour market, they need to ensure that their total rewards package and C&B related processes evolve along, especially in their new international hubs.
The Compensation & Benefits Manager will report to the HR Director and will work closely with the (growing) HR team and other colleagues in the company.
Your responsibilities
Design and evaluate compensation & benefits packages and salary bands that align with the company’s strategic plan and are competitive in the IT market
Ensure salaries and benefits comply with the current legislation about human rights and pay equity
Manage the global compensation and benefits benchmarking process to ensure Backbase remains the employer of choice
Design, improve and implement policies and processes in areas like incentive programs, benchmarking, job grading, salary management, insurances, etc.
Contribute to the Backbase Career Framework (owned by Talent Development)
Responsible for the grading of new positions, alignment of job titles as well as changes to the grading framework
Participate in the yearly Career Framework review
Analyse the compensation structure for existing employees covering various aspects like Relative Salary Position, salary mapping at different grades, attrition %, etc
Identify trends and implement new practices to engage and motivate employees
Prepare compensation-related reports and evaluate the effectiveness of employee benefit programs;
Lead design/improvement projects at a global level in various areas of compensation & benefits among which the set up of Backbase locations in new countries;
Consult HR Business Partners and Business leaders on C&B related questions.
Background
You have a university degree in HR Management, social or business sciences, and relevant international rewards experience
You have a minimum of 10 years HR experience in an international environment, of which at least 6 years in compensation & benefits
You know all about employment conditions across countries and how to align them;
You have experience with and deep knowledge of relevant employment law and related government and tax regulations
You have the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
Excellent communication and presentations skills and ability to interact with different cultures and levels of management
You have proven experience in partnering with middle & senior management and external parties, such as consultants, employment organizations and lawyers
You communicate fluently in English and preferably Dutch
