Lindsay Netherlands is the mainland Europe Sales-hub, based in Rotterdam and consisting of 15 highly trained senior professionals. To be able and further boost the EMEA / APAC Irrigation branch Lindsay is looking for a:

DIRECTOR OF SALES, IRRIGATION EMEA / APAC

The Director of Sales, Irrigation EMEA / APAC has 7 direct reports, and is reporting to the VP International Irrigation EMEA & APAC.

Part of the Irrigation EMEA / APAC Management Team, further consisting of the Senior Manager Sales Operations & Projects, Manager of Projects EMEA &APAC, Various RM’s and TM’s

The Director of Sales position is a very strategic one, since the Netherlands is becoming an important sales hub. As said, the team is highly skilled, with a very international blend. Their reach with responsibility for EMEA as well as APAC is substantial. Notwithstanding the fact that Lindsay Irrigation is a Top2 Player globally, there is still a lot of addressable market to cover.

Main purpose of the job

Taking ownership of the development, execution and implementation of the commercial strategy for the EMEA/APAC region inclusive budget and resource management.

Key result areas

  • Delivering strategic leadership for defining the commercial path to growth and profitability of the EMEA / APAC region.
  • Responsible for all strategic aspects related to marketing, sales and the customer experience with an emphasis on achieving market penetration, sales growth and customer satisfaction (end-users, dealers/agents & suppliers).
  • Building an even stronger Team- and Sales culture that attracts, retains and motivates the team and possibly new hires.
  • Reporting to the VP International EMA &APAC on: sales forecast & pipelines; commercial and marketing plans. Assisting the VP with company-wide customer growth projects and initiatives.
  • Taking ownership of the financial budget management, compliance and control of the commercial and marketing plans and its assigned resources/assets.
  • Combining full commercial, entrepreneurial and hands-on power with smart analysis.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HIGH ASPIRATION LEVEL AND A STRONG WILL TO UNDER PROMISE AND OVERDELIVER

  • At least 10 years of experience working in a senior sales position in EMEA/APAC region within a fast-paced and highly competitive environment.
  • A degree or diploma in Sales, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Agriculture or any other business related field. The equivalent of the same in working experience is also acceptable for the position.
  • An appropriate post graduate qualification in business management, law, financial management or an MBA would be a recommendation.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, demonstrating an ability to move and influence a large team towards a common goal.
  • Superior analytical skills coupled with strong business acumen along with the ability to draw useful insights from raw information and data and create comprehensive reports, leading to the formulation of effective strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills in English are a must have since the performance and effectiveness of the business’s sales force is dependent on the clarity of communications and instructions down the line from and imperative in compiling and creating sales reports and presentations to stakeholders.
  • Advanced computer literacy and exposure to relevant software programs / applications and platforms with regards to sales, marketing, forecasting, support and finance.
  • A candidate for this position must be consumer-oriented, task driven, meticulously organized, have strategic thinking capacity, be flexible and accommodative to change, and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to market and sell technical products and interpret technical data and drawings related to the specific product range and meeting customer needs.
